What crime? Nothing was stolen. Duh.![]()
So a white SAHM who probably moved here from Ohio or someplace got frightened when she saw a local child. She thinks her being scared of young Black men means a law was somehow broken![]()
The sooner gentrifiers like this move the hell back out of DC, the better.

The wallet is annoying, but it just takes an hour on the phone to replace everything. None of it is worth risking your life.
The weird part of this story is why anyone would bother stealing a phone in the first place. One, it’s locked! Two, it will shortly be deactivated.
Wow, you're just going to roll over? At some point the people have to stand up. This is how things improve.
Not OP, but if someone tried to take my phone and they had a gun, i would not "stand up" -- I wouldn't be armed, and like the PP said, the phone is locked and replaceable. Not really worth it to me to get shot just in the name of "not rolling over."

Just like rape. Why would you fight? Just lie back and relax. It'll be over soon.
Look, I get where you're coming from, and you're not wrong on the individual encounter level. My concern is you scale that up and there are no social repercussions for street robberies. If that's the case, it's just going to get worse.
