Yes, another vote for Dave Grohl and I’m not a big fan of his music. Lots of local references too, which is fun.

Viola Davis’s memoir is incredible. I also enjoyed Jessica Simpson’s although I think she glossed over a lot (her prerogative and I’m sure most do, just not as obviously).

Just Kids was incredible

I thought I'm Glad My Mom Died was really well done, too - very different from Just Kids!

I just did not get Just Kids. I am in my early 40s. Was I too young? I barely knew any of the many people she kept name dropping. I didn’t care for Robert. I found it to be boring and I couldn’t wait to be done with it.

I don’t know her music well. Maybe that was part of it? But I loved Andre Agassiz’s memoir, for example, and I know nothing about tennis.

I don’t really know Robert or Patti. I’m 49. While I wouldn’t describe the book as incredible, I did think it was sweet and nostalgic look at byegone days.

I just heard Justine Bateman on an old podcast. Anyone read her books?

Jaques Pepin, Apprentice: My Life in the Kitchen

+1 Read the book years ago when it came out. Still remember some parts of them because they were so good - his apprenticeship years, his initial years in America
