I started showing my kids Revenge of the Nerds but had to turn it off. It didn't hold up well. I think a few scenes in Animal House would warrant some discussion, but overall I think they'd enjoy it.

Another vote for Ladybird. Loved it - and this is reminding me to watch again.

Not a movie, but the series Felicity is a good show for kids to watch before heading off to college.
