No news is good news. Concerning results jump to the front of the line and they reach out quickly.

Anxious OP here-haven’t received a callback or letter. Mammogram was last Thursday. I’m feeling less concerned, but still worried that I have no results. And portal isn’t working.

Unfortunately, the core needle biopsy is not pleasant. They numb you really well, but it’s still uncomfortable and jarring. It’s not a gentle procedure, at least mine wasn’t. There might be other types of biopsies that are better.

Mine was not at all. It was a needle biopsy.

Reviving thread and hope OP is okay! For those of you who received callbacks, how soon after mammogram was the call? Specifically asking about Fairfax Radiology. I had a strange interaction with technician yesterday, and worried today.

If there were something concerning enough that it impacted the tech’s expression, they likely would have consulted with the radiologist in the same day or prioritized the result. At WRA I’ve noticed they will schedule a biopsy right there, before you leave.

+1. If there was something seriously concerning, the tech would have gone to speak with the radiologist while you were still there & they would have taken some more images and then asked you to schedule a biopsy before you leave the appointment.

They are covering their arses because the first set of pictures are not good.

If they were genuinely concerned, you'd be in there the next day and then sent off for a biopsy, pronto.

Do not sweat it.

I get called back after every mamo. I have dense breast tissue. I've had ultrasounds and core biopsy's too. All negative. Good luck!

Callbacks are so common. If you get one, please don’t panic. Vast majority of callbacks end up being nothing or a benign finding.

Same. I had a call back and the tech said I must come immediately. Totally freaked me out. Turns out she didn't want to end the day turning in a bad scan. She thanked me for coming back in. I was like, You scared the cr*p out of me to CYA?!

All to say, if it was an emergency of any sort, they would get you in sooner than 2 weeks. And even then, in all probability it was a bad scan.

I was called back- very nerve wracking. They wanted to look at one area a bit closer- they did and it was fine. Hope all goes well for you.
