Please if you order at night, leave the porch light on. If you live in an area that is completely dark and I hear banjos driving up your driveway, I’m going to tell support I cannot find your house and leave the food 🍱 on the road! Have some common courtesy for the person going on in the rain to deliver your wings and fries at 11:30pm!

Just once last week…delivering to a motor home.

My daughter delivered to a sketch area during the day where she felt the guy was waiting for his meth delivery.

Sometimes the apps themselves will “stack” orders. For instance if you just or will be at A restaurant, DD will pay you more to stop at this restaurant on the way and deliver on the way or even after your place depending on where it is. This I know isn’t fair to you, and I have a big insulated bag and always try to deliver before the app tells you to expect it, it also makes sense if there are no other drivers near and you could get assigned to go all the way back to your area for that on the way order.

I hope that makes sense. I’m not making any money just sitting not bringing you your vittles.

Ugh, I hate this! It just happened to me the other day with Seamless. I watched the little icon move in the opposite direction of me after the restaurant, and my food arrived an hour after the app predicted. They gave me a $10 credit for my next order, but I wish they’d be more transparent about when the food will realistically arrive.

Did you have the complain to get the credit? It happened to me recently and I didn’t want to take it out on the dasher, but I never thought about complaining to the company itself!

Yes, I had to complain through the Help button. The $10 credit was because they have some sort of on-time delivery guarantee.

Anyone who repeatedly fails to tip without having reported significant issues should automatically be charged a minimum gratuity on future orders.

I wanted to say the same! I started using door dash about 6 months into the pandemic and as a mom to young kids with a spouse who works a lot and travels for work this service has been really wonderful for us. Very few restaurants deliver to where we live and I am so grateful to have one thing taken off my list some days. Thank you!

I only use DoorDash, but it’s really easy in the app to notify them of an issue. If something is missing or you get the wrong item, you can choose a refund for that item to your credit card or a credit to be used on your next DD order. I would hope that doesn’t affect the Dasher’s income because problems are almost always the fault of the restaurant staff.

My family was on a road trip when our alternator died. It took 4 days to get a new one installed. We were stuck in a hotel (without room service) on a highway, with very few businesses within walking distance and we had no car. Thank God for DoorDash or we would have had to live for days on McDonalds or gas station food. We got sick and I was able to have a Dasher deliver cold medicine.

Because it's Friday night, I'm drunk, I want pizza, and there aren't any restaurants within walking distance.

My job pays for $30/day of food reimbursement including delivery. I work 12+ hrs/day at the moment

At many places, they have to provide the name on the order to pick it up, or show their screen to the restaurant worker to confirm they're getting the right bag.
