1 can refried beans
Mixture- one packet of taco seasoning, 1 cup mayonnaise, 1 cup sour cream (mix the night before or morning of, then bring in a container)
4 cups of shredded cheese
Chopped tomatoes
Chopped green onions
Optional- can of minced black olives (I hate olives so skip this)
Bag of tortilla chips

Bring a 9x13 casserole dish. Then right before serving layer following the above list starting with refried beans.

I’m sorry, I hate to “yuck someone else’s yum” but 1 cup of mayo should not be a part of this dish. You mix the seasoning into the refried beans. Layer of guacamole (not necessary but great), then layer of sour cream, and proceed as mentioned above.

It’s always the first thing to go and people demand I bring it to every potluck I’m invited.

But why would you add mayonnaise to seven layer dip in the first place? Seven layer dip doesn’t need mayonnaise.

It’s mixed in with taco seasoning and sour cream. It’s not like it’s a layer of plain mayonnaise. It adds a richness to the taco seasoning layer.

It adds a thousand unnecessary calories. Just use sour cream or Mexican crema.
