Salim is less impressive nor as engaged as Yalowitz... had never even heard of him before he announced his candidacy...
Agreed! I'm very disappointed Yalowitz dropped out. She held the most promise among all three candidates. All Salim seems to do is talk about his childhood, hold up signs at protests, tweet into the Dem's echochamber, and project negativity about Chap's voting record without any depth in opinions of his own around policy that impacts Virginia voters. It shows his inexperience. Sadly, at this rate, we will be saddled with Chap for another 4 years. Or worse, we may end up with an actual Republican representative by this November.
You're an idiot if you think a Republican stands a chance in this district.
Someone is drinking the koolaid. Chap isn't a republican. Even our democratic delegate in Vienna, Holly Seibold, seems to support him.

I met Erika Yalowitz a few weeks ago and she is VERY impressive. I hope Saddam drops out and gets behind her.
I had a chance to meet with all three candidates through different events and here are my observations.
Chap seems like a democrat stuck in the 90s. His voting pattern is horrible.
Saddam seemed like a nice guy, but he couldn't answer any of my questions. This is his first race and I felt that he needs to run for something more local to better understand the area before stepping into a larger seat.
I agree Erika is very impressive and I found her to be the most genuine. Her past run for Board of Supervisors and community experience throughout Oakton, Vienna, and Tysons shows that she understands the current issues in this area. Her work with the Blake Lane community saved the only green space in that community.
Out of the three candidates, I felt Erika would make a great state senator.
Yalowitz conspired with Karl Frisch to kill any chance for a new ES in the Fairfax/Oakton area, even though Mosaic ES has about 1000 kids and there could be more growth at Providence ES with Fairfax City development. Then Frisch turned around and burned the money that had been set aside for the Fairfax/Oakton school by pushing for a new ES in Dunn Loring that isn’t needed at all and will be a solution in search of a problem once built.
Neither one of them is impressive in the slightest. They think they are smart progressives but they are just clowns.
A new school was not needed at Blake Ln. it never should have even been considered given that Mosaic was on the upgrade path.
Ask the parents at Mosaic whether they are all happy with an ES school with 1000 or so kids. It was OK with Yalowitz and Frisch, but not necessarily parents.
Anyway Yalowitz, who was unelectable, has now dropped out. That may be bad news for Chap, but it’s still good news for residents who are spared from even the remote possibility they’d be represented by a dope like Erika. Frisch is bad enough.

Chap is an excellent politician (and a super nice person), but I wonder whether he is too out of step with Democratic primary voters on these issues.
