That is weird. I always thought people value Rosewood Mayakoba because of privacy it offers. Yes, it is ultra luxury, but not a party place or anything. People typically keep it to themselves and the resort is very quiet. It is not a place to brag about, but a place to enjoy amenities, privacy, and the relaxing environment for a few days.

OP here. We've been a couple times in the last few years. We don't have kids but there are plenty of kids on property and lots of activities - the lake house like a PP mentioned, they also have free bikes you can ride around the resort which is nice. We love the resort and will probably go back because of how easy the DCA-SJU direct flight is. Our only downside is there are a ton of mosquitoes, but nothing some bug spray can't fix.

Rosewood Mayakoba is amazing. We went for $2k per night a few years ago. I got priced out this winter. It was $5k+ during peak week after Xmas.

I would not go to the Caribbean in the summer. We go to the Caribbean in the winter and spring. We do parks, Europe, Asia in the summer.

Anyone have experience with the resorts in the Grenadines (palm island etc) or Bahamian Out Islands (like Kamalame)? Willing to have a long day of travel for an incredible beach and more intimate but still kid friendly experience
