I have this question too. My senior admitted to a T20 ED is definitely slacking off with mostly Bs second semester. I would think admissions would not be rescinded absent Cs or lower. I assume it’s school dependent, but does anyone have any actual insight into this?

Yes curious. Same question.

+1 however, DC has pretty much stopped all extra curr, except one that will finish this month. And, they have been skipping certain classes. I think a lot of seniors have checked out already. Last day in MCPS for seniors is May 26, and prom is May 19.

Yes, my DD was admitted ED in December but is going to school as per usual. What else is she going to do? She’s doesn’t get to stay home and watch TikTok’s or whatever and do nothing for like 8 months.

This would result in getting kicked out and not graduating at DC's school. Every senior is attending every class unless they are sick.

Seriously, why? Has to be the red-shirted kids.

What? Seniors skipping class has been happening since forever. This isn’t a new concept and has nothing to do with red shirting.

DC had enough credits to graduate in December, so he did that. He's taking a philosophy class and a comp sci class at the community college now.

Seek help for your bizarre obsession with redshirted kids. It’s creepy.

np- do you know what obsession means or do you just throw that word around when you don’t like something?

I mean it’s true. Only an obsessive would bring up redshirting in this context the way PP did.

I’m not convinced you understand what redshirting means.

I have never thought about that a high school kid would skip classes, regardless of senior or not.
I check my son's SIS weekly and remind him if he missed any assignment. So far, he has been working as hard as before. He did receive a C for multivariable calculus, but that is because it is more challenging.
I will keep closer eyes on his behavior now knowing that some seniors may skip classes.
In my opinion, building a good work habit is more important than where he goes to college. Skipping a class is definitely not allowed.

There is a saying in the running community: "The first time you blow off an early morning run is the hardest"

Yes, these seniors are tired and burned out but why encourage them to not show up for their classes? If it becomes familiar to do so in high school, won't it be so much easier to do in college when there are so many more distractions and less immediate accountability? I think there is a mindset to success in college.

Uh, no moron. Redshirted kids are older and more likely age of 18 which gives them autonomy to skip school. Are you that dense to not have common sense to figure this out?
