Can anyone speak to what the best podcast is about this murder? I never have enough time to watch documentaries that I am interested in, but I do tend to have time for podcasts while I commute.

+1 I posted the same. I think Victor had some idea that Joe and Dylan had some kind of nefarious plan for that night (though maybe not the full extent of it) and didn’t want to be involved hence he disappeared up to his room to “watch TV” when Robert came over.

The coroner said Robert was still alive when he was stabbed and blood clotted in his intestines. I think these guys clearly did this, its like if there intent was to drug him and rape him but it's so strange they killed him, the coroner said his body showed no signs of a struggle. It's just so bizarre.

I listened to a podcast about Robert's murder just before we moved to DC. I can't bear to watch the show, but I read this article from 2010, which was very thorough.

It's tragic. I have friends who knew him and Joe in college and I occasionally crossed paths with Joe professionally. Always seemed very tightly wound but normal enough, who could imagine this degree of depravity and betrayal of a long time friend?

To me always seemed like a planned thrill kill with cleaners on standby and the added thrill of racing against the clock. Psychopaths can mask well. Joe had a lot of BDSM images on a work computer at Arent Fox, he liked to push and push the edge.

I hope his widow is doing ok. I do wonder what happened to Victor and Joe's kids, they must be adults by now?

Joe supposedly had a very abusive childhood, sometimes victims can morph into monsters. No idea why the others seemed so in his thrall. Dylan was supposedly doing home massages in FL at one point. Victor is still in marketing, his hurrah was the Got Milk campaign.

The house on Swann has been redone and sold for an eye watering sum before cv.

I also hope that one day Robert will get true justice. I know Covington tried.

Exactly it's hard to get to probable cause for any of them without one of them flipping. Its like prisoner's dilemma except the deal held (which isn't supposed to happen)

Yeah I really don't get how they weren't indicted. Or how they. couldn't get one to flip on another.

I think their mistake was focusing on trying to flip Ward, the supposed “third wheel,” against the other two when they’d have been better off focusing on flipping Zaborsky. I kind of think Ward and/or Price and Ward (who were into a bunch of sexual stuff Zaborsky wasn’t) killed Robert and maybe Zaborsky was only involved in the coverup.

I remember when the first Washingtonian story was published and reading it in horror. I feel so sad for his widow.
