My company does zero TV commercials, we do zero physical post office ads, do zero print ads, we don’t have an 800 number to call or a website to sign up.
Gen Z don’t watch TV, open mail, make phone calls or use websites. We are now focusing on Gen Alpha. Really pushing for people born in 2010s. Most people in world don’t even speak English.
To be honest a 25 year old white English speaking marketing person is an old women out of touch to a 12 year old customer in India.
They should fire everyone in marketing over 27 you are out of touch
So I notice you didn't mention anything about a 25 year old white man or black man or POC
So not only are you ageist you are sexist and racist
Black straight men are smart enough not to work in marketing the gay white men well I guess if they can’t get a job in fashion.
You be surprised at spending power kids. We got kids 12-18 who spend thousands each month. My own 16 year old daughters friend has a $1,000 a week allowance.

You get the basic framework for your industry but your younger co-workers have their ear to the street and are more social media savvy, something that is crucial in marketing.
It’s only in medicine and law that ageism isn’t rampant. Probably has to do with boards and bar being set by old people as gate keepers.

OP, if you have all that experience in the industry, how is this in any way bothering you? Where were you when the same exact thing happened with Millennials? Advertising caters to the same age bracket and that age bracket always 1) thinks they invented everything cool and 2) thinks that older people are lame. They just use different slang. This should not be news.
I feel like millennials were different. There, the spotlight was on ‘causes’ and entire generations were not dismissed. In fact I think millennials started the trend you see come to fruition now with an embracing of gray hair etc - of redefining age parameters. Gen z are just like the pastiche of the vacuous valley girl but en masse and throwing collective shade at anyone who dares to have lived longer than 35 years and has the jeans to show for it

Fine, go tell black women and people in wheelchairs to stop complaining and “embrace” themselves too. Some of you just don’t understand that age discrimination IS discrimination.
Everyone gets old. Therein lies the difference.
