Just got back from the 2027's. 3 hours is a LONG tryout. Felt like we were there forever. Was probably about 40-50 girls there vying for 20 spots. Lots of goalies. Maybe 8?

Evaluators don't necessarily pick the teams. At least that is how UA works. Event coaches do. Evaluators can advocate, but ultimately not their call.


The club is given a list of top players from the tryouts. They only get involved if someone turns down a spot. (more common at younger ages where some girls will use the acceptance for clout and resume building)

We’ll, my daughter has played since conception and after I’ve insulted the process, the people who will make the decision about the team, and everything about AS I want to register my disgust that my daughter didn’t make it by crapping on more people associated with it.

It's mostly D2 D3 coaches. Last year, it was coaches from W&L, Roanoke and Randolph.

First year there was one team per age group. They added multiple teams per graduating class in certain regions so it is impossible to say how many will get selected.

It probably won't matter for the 27s and 28s. There may not even be enough to really need to make cuts. Anyone willing to pay the price tag of the event will likely make the team for the 28s.

Capital players who show up will be selected 1st. Then VA girls 2nd. The rest is reserved for the leftovers. Say what you want but there is a deep affiliation with Capital and AS.

Max of 22 per team. Would expect 100+ for 2025 tryouts, 80-100 for 2026 tryouts and probably 45-60 for each of the lower grades.

Will usually get cut down to 35-40 about 2 hours in for scrimmages/callback games.

Could be 100+ at the tryout depending on region. 22 per team.

Nike provides the uniforms but I have never heard it referred to as the Nike team.
