Hmmm, prices have gone up, but I exclusively buy 2 liter bottles and the most I'll pay is $3 (and consider it a terrible price). I can find them at Target or Harris Teeter for closer to $1.50 per bottle, when I buy in bulk. Average cost $2.

I stopped buying cans years ago because I find this way, I drink less overall (I can just pour myself a small glass and get my fix, or I can fill a tall glass with ice and pour over, and it's still less than a 12 oz can).

I would actually love to quit drinking it for health reasons but it's basically my only food/beverage vice. I don't drink alcohol or eat meat or any other junk foods. But the specific combinations of sugar/carbonation/caffeine in regular Coke have the hold on the pleasure synapses in my brain that I cannot let go of.

I…literally said I do enjoy soft drinks on occasion, but also made the point that some of you are willfully ignorant about your role in this cycle. You’ll complain but you’ll still fork over your money to get your unnecessary, sugary drink. If you stop buying it at what you think are unfair prices, the companies will stop selling the product at the high prices. But instead, you’ll grumble…and pay…and swill…

I never drink the cans only the half litres. Sometimes the two litres.

Giant had a deal for the Super Bowl, buy 2 of 12-packs of Coke or Pepsi products at $9.99 each, and get 3 of the 12-packs free. At $4 apiece, that’s the lowest price I’ve seen in quite a while.

Even the generic brands have doubled in price.
