Why VA voters fell for the Youngkin BS is beyond me.
After the CCP balloon debacle, I'm happy that Youngkin refused their presence in VA. Good for him.
100% this.
Youngkin, right again.
Sure. Refused a Ford plant that would have given work to US workers employed by Ford. How many billion of $$$$$ worth of Chinese products are sold in Virginia every year, products made by Chinese workers and that enrich China and its economy.
Sure. Let's allow China to retain ownership of the technology used in building those battery cells - which is exactly what the Ford agreement entailed.![]()
Good for Youngkin.

1. Not a Youngkin fan but good for him on making this decision if China retains ownership in the technology. When American companies invest in China, they have to share the technology with the Chinese co-owners.

Likely mostly soul crushing $16 an hour temp factory jobs where they string overworked saps along for years on end before giving them a decent salary and fringe.

That may give you some peace at night. But for those people who could have used those jobs, that corporate business point runs a little cold.
Youngkin is possibly the worst governor this Commonwealth has ever had. Feckless. Untruthful. Malignant.

Pretty much this. And it was going to help the poorest and most Republican region of Virginia.
Good job, Youngkin!
Yes, good job, Youngkin. He can attract another industry to the area - without ties to the CCP.

Or, he can keep his supporters dumb and jobless.

This is a joint effort with Ford and CATL. You know who owns CATL? The Chinese. And, there is no ownership of companies in China without the CCP involved.
The Marshall community is not on board with this plan either.... https://www.woodtv.com/news/calhoun-county/residents-push-back-on-proposed-marshall-megasite/
Why would Ford cut a deal if it was going to undermine their brand or national security standing?
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:How much manufacturing is in that area? I only know Marshall for its home tours of all the old homes.
Will Ford ruin the local environment there rather than in areas where industrial / manufacturing has existed?
Industrial/ manufacturing has existed in Southside Virginia. It used to be a huge area for textile manufacturing.
Th question was about Marshall, MI which may be best known for historic home tours.
