And each store operator is laughing all the way to the bank! No one is suggesting fast food is healthy. CFA is just the most successful at it all the while doing it closed on Sunday.

CFA is always clean. Employees don’t act like they hate their jobs or the customers. Pre ordering in the app is super efficient.

Granted, the chicken is salty because it’s brined before cooking. But it’s not fatty, as fried chicken goes.

I don’t even get fried chicken there. I get a grilled chicken sandwich. I like their side of kale dressed with an apple cider vinegar dressing, but it’s a teeny serving.

The relatively small menu also helps. McDonalds had their initial success with a small menu. Trying to do too much often results in a significant quality drop.

I’m a well educated and rich former New Englander who eats their about once a week, and works out most days. My order is Spicy Deluxe sandwich meal with Colby Jack cheese and extra pickles, one packet of Mayo, half sweet tea with lemon, and two BBQ sauces for the fires.

Honey, I'm tall and thin. Southern as they come. Educated with advanced degrees. Yes, I love a Chick-fil-A fried chicken sandwich and their mac 'n cheese! I'm also impressed with their venerosity to help kids in foster care.

I think one key reason is that CFA are always clean and well maintained. And built to be bright and welcoming. That makes a huge difference to me. The Popeyes on Rockville Pike is filthy, dark, dreary, and looks like they are about to evacuate. They do have good chicken, but it is not a place I want to be in at all, and it makes me question whether I should really be eating food from such a place. Almost across the street is a CFA that looks like it gets a full scrub every night. I don’t ever wonder about whether the CFA chicken is safe to eat.
I think this same principle applies more generally to restaurants. So many places open with great business, all clean and fresh, and then over time start to look neglected and poorly kept and business declines. I think a lot of places would do much better if they just cleaned!

You seem confused. Every time I go there the employees are bright, cheerful, and engaged. I can’t think of any other retail establishment where the employees pay as much attention or are as friendly and great to interact with. I have no idea how much they pay, but they hire good people and treat them well.

I always wonder how they find these bright, friendly, competent kids because so many kids are the exact opposite. They know what they are doing with hiring.

The one my son works at required 3 interviews and knowledge tests to be hired. A full day of off-site training/final interview. New employees are trained for months. It takes even more training to move up. Employees are monitored and counseled by senior team members. Employees must be recommended and mentored for promotion s. Cashiers aren't trying to support their three kids on an entry level job. They expect their part-time employees to be in high school or college

The McDonald's by me offers drive thru interviews & hire on the spot. Employees might be on the cash register on their own after an hour.

That literally happened to my brother! He filled out an application, submitted it, and they put him at a register with NO training. He never went back.
