That’s disgusting and frankly, horrifically unsanitary. I nannied a child that age for only 2.5 hours a day and changed their wet diaper at least once. It is not good for their skin and it’s definitely not loving or attentive care to the child’s needs. Can you hire the nanny back?

I definitely don't expect immediate response, but do expect some level of communication throughout the day (e.g., log diaper changes and meals). When the head teacher isn't there, there is literally zero communication. This wasn't such a huge concern until my DD came home in the same diaper she had been wearing for 8+ hours.

Wait - you need them to tell you how many times they changed your TWO YEAR OLD'S diaper? Why is that necessary? I 100% agree that they need to change the diapers and coming home in a diaper she wore all day is unacceptable, but it's also insane for you to expect them to tell you how many times they changed your toddler's diaper. This isn't an infant, you're not concerned about dehydration!!

Also, are you sure your child isn't just a heavy pee-er who pees right before you pick her up? Did you try sharpie/labeling the diapers before you accused them of this?

Checking and Changing diapers is more important than typing on the phone every 30 minute.

Maybe every online daily update is made up. Just rush, type anything and done. Send.

I once picked my kid up early from daycare. He was preschool age. We had appreciated the detailed report on the day she always did (one for the whole room not for each child). That day I learned it was basically made up. There was all kinds of detail from activity that had not happened yet. Jack jumped really high on the playground! Sally got the whole class clapping during music time.

As a parent of an average healthy child, why do you need to know how many times they pee?

It's so much preffered to change the child's diaper than being so anxious CRAZY updating the daily report online app every 30 minutes, 1 hour.

I prefer written reports. They write down every 2-3 hours. And I like the small notes of the best things or moments the kid did.

Full Reports for infants is fine. There's no need for a full report of a 2 years old.
Just a note of the best moments of the day.

I hate those daily online reports apps. I don't want the caregivers to be on the phone for evert f*king pee, poo. I don't need to know that during the day. I much prefer to see the written report at the end of the day.

I would be so anxious and PARANOID watching what my kid is doing every hour. Crazy.

Parent of teen here. PRE APPs we learned this information at pick up. Not throughout the day. How can the care givers be attentive to their kids if they are spending all this time updating parents in Apps?

And no, unless your kid is ill (then should be home), or having an eating or pooping issue, NO parent of a 2-year old needs to know ONE DEMAND THROUGHOUT THE DAY if they ate, pooped, or peed. That is nuts.

+1. Your expectations around the daily updates seem a little high. But the diaper thing is a huge screaming red flag
