Her arguments against WFH would be more palatable if downtown didn’t reek of marijuana. No thanks.

Anything else other than mayor would be great. But since she can't rise any higher in the ranks (congresswoman, senator) DC mayor is the best gig she can get. We're stuck with her for a while.

She'll serve out her term and then announce she's not running again. After laying low for a while she will join a K Street lobbying firm making seven figures, and her kid will suddenly leave her dcps school for a pricy private.

Every sitting DC Council member under the age of 70 will run to succeed her. Charles Allen will spent millions to finish 5th in the primary. Brianne Nadeau will finish behind Trayon.

It was extremely common for TV shows throughout the 70s and early 80s to feature derogatory characters that mocked white ethnic groups.

Well, about 80-100 years ago.

More recent than that. In the 1960s there were still restrictive covenants on home sales that excluded Italians, my friend's Italian father was not allowed to even set foot in the church that his Welsh Presbyterian mother was from. With the Irish it'd be 80 years, there was discrimination along with the whole "Shanty Irish / Lace Curtain Irish" thing up until at least the 1940s.

Wasn’t she offered something at HUD?

There is zero chance Biden (or Harris) would offer her anything.

Do you think a Republican would appoint her?

It looks to me like whatever future Bowser does have it won’t be in Democratic circles or future political appointments. Her behavior has been way too self-serving and she has to be PNG in the Biden WH. First by supporting and being the surrogate for Bloomberg against Biden and other Democrats, including fellow Black woman Harris, in the primaries. And now taking shots directly at Biden over Federal WFH policies that are being used by Republicans for ammunition. I’m not sure what is in store for her next but it’s more likely she goes to work for Ft Myer Construction than having any future in Democratic politics.

How is the housing authority doing in her own city under her watch? Not a good track record there. Unless you were being racist here.

Why has virtually every HUD Secretary been black???

No. Henry Cisneros, Steve Preston, Shaun Donovan, Julian Castro, Mel Martinez, Andrew Cuomo.

Most have NOT been Black.

I see 3 Latinos, 2 ethnic Americans and only one WASP. The data seems to support the idea that this is a cabinet position reserved for minorities.

Ethnic Americans are minorities? That's news to me. Did someone tell Andrew Cuomo that he is a minority?

Not too long ago the Irish and Italians were discriminated against and a lot of Bommer generation and older ethnic hyphenated Americans have a chip on their shoulder about it.
