Nice try. Read the article before you post to try to prove a point. Berkeley miss reported alumni donation percentages, not admit rates. Big difference and does not prove your point/comment.


Berkeley is at/near the top of the academic ladder. They don’t feel the need to game the system like a USC and so many other newcomers.

Not anymore. They are as hard to get into as an Ivy now. It’s pure insanity. The Marshall school of business is expecting a 1-3% acceptance rate this year. That’s harder than Wharton!

Yes, nerdy…! How well do you know USC? It’s competitive to get into, lots of international students and only 25% of the student body is white so it’s not exactly teaming with your stereotypical white frat boys like some southern and midwestern schools. Most college kids like to have fun, but I don’t think USC is a big party school compared to a typical college.

My kid got scholarship/aid.
Cost was little more than UVA.
UVA is pretty expensive for a state schhool.

Another kid also went to Notre Dame.
It was actually cheaper than UVA after aid/scholarship.

So it all depennds just like any other private schools.
Nothing specialy about USC.

Yea flight is added cost, but well worth it for getting out of VA.

How are so many people affording close to $90K? Plus the cost of flights, etc from anyone around here.
I know they give good aid and some merit scholarships but that is still a very HIGH cost of attendance (when compared to other options) for the vast majority of applicants.
