What do you think is the ideal age to send a child to daycare?

My kid was home with me until he was over a year old, now he is almost 2 and his nanny makes sure he gets a lot of time with other kids. They’re almost never just hanging out at our house. Instead, they’re at the playground or the library or a recreation center near us, they go to story time, they go to a music class once a week. She coordinates with other nannies so he sees some of the same kids on a regular basis. YMMV depending on the nanny, but I definitely don’t worry about his socialization.
I've been to parks. Some days are nice but still lacks of activities and not always you can find kids with the same age to play with.
And kids still gets sick. Even more since they are outside most of the time.
And family daycares and centers kids get sick too. It's life.
You gotta expose them to germs. Or they will have a compromised immune system. I know a kid who never got out of the house and he's a wreck. Poor kid. I always blame the parents.
PP. not sure where you live, but in my very walkable neighborhood in DC, there are always lots of kids/nannies at the playground on weekdays. Same at the other places she takes him. He interacts with kids a variety of ages. At his age it’s more about parallel play anyway.
Not sure what you’re talking about with regard to sickness? Yeah, my son still gets sick sometimes, but way less than kids who are in daycare. Also, it’s a myth that kids need to get sick a lot to build their immune systems.

Don't send kids to kindergarten 😂🤣🤣 if you are so scared about them getting sick.
Home school then, keep them forever and never to school, family daycare, center😂🤣
