Yes, it is very selfish for Americans to have children, but it is OK to have 7+ for people who live in Africa.

Nope. I think children are the answer to the world’s problems, not the cause.

Also I think this is one of those ethical questions where the scope makes a difference in whether we feel something is right or wrong. Adding one more child to a world of billions feels like it's hardly making a dent. But if I lived on a small island of 50 people and there were very limited resources, I'd probably see that another child would take away from the resources of real life people I have to see every day and feel differently about it.

I think that ethically, I always knew the best thing to do would be to adopt. But my biological drive to procreate was really strong and I listened to it. We did stop at two when we really wanted a third, and a small part of that was knowing it was better for the planet.
