I went from an easy to spell last name to a more difficult to spell (but easy to say) last name. It's a pain in the butt. I spell it slowly. They repeat it back slowly, it's wrong, we go back and forth. It's in the system wrong, so I spell it right and they can't find me.

Tons of my students have uniquely spelled names. I pride myself on making every effort to get it right. Their faces light up when I do. "No one ever knows to use that x in my name!" I hear all the time.

Don't set them up for people getting it wrong all the time.

Leigh = Lee, but when you add the a at the end, you are adding “ha”, and questionable whether the g is silent or not, leading some to say “Leg-ha”. Don’t do this
