Awww it’s okay OP, I love your new mom excitement. Many of us are years into this and can tell you though, you’ll have plenty of time for fun activities like this and then you’ll be exhausted and miss when they were babies and you didn’t have to do all this stuff lol. In seriousness though I’m glad you crowdsourced before going out and taking your baby tubing!

Others have covered this, no, it is not safe.

Also, it really just won't be very fun for your kid. Push him in a swing. Life does have risks, but there is almost no benefit to an infant tubing, and a high risk

As a further comment to the warning about slides, please don’t sled or tube on your own on any hill without a designated runout area and definitely not a ski hill, even if others are doing it or it appears safe. A girl just died at a resort near me from a tubing accident. I know the slope she died on and I could see how her group thought it would be ok, but there’s very limited steering on a sled/tube. Despite this, I sometimes see parents allowing their kids to sled on slopes after hours.

OP here. Thanks to those who kindly said no and also really appreciate the slide awareness; I have to admit (I'm sure to no one's surprise, especially those calling me worst parent of the year) that I had vaguely heard of it but didn't realize the gravity of what could happen. I’ve noticed that tubing hills, amusement parks, water parks, etc, all have the same types of attendants - well meaning kids who may or may not be paying close attention. You really have to judge for yourself or ask around (as you have done) without relying on a 16 year old’s assessment of safety. The last time I went tubing w my kids, the teenage attendant cheerfully gave our tube a hearty kick at the top of the hill, to give us that extra burst of speed we had not asked for. We weren’t in any danger, but I screamed for real. OP, your kid has so much fun ahead of them! Keep looking for fun stuff, and keep asking others if you aren’t sure about whether it’s age appropriate.

At 10 months you can bundle them up and pull them around a flat area on a sled if we get a few inches of snow.

I know someone who caused her baby to have a brain injury by taking her horse riding in a Day Baby Bjorn, so, no.

Pull them around on a sled. Too many people are in the hospital this year as is. Also, reframe this for yourself. Your child is 10 months old. They barely have a personality. They will not care what you do as long as they feel safe (emphasis on safe) and you are happy and kind to them.
