Sounds like you need anger management classes, immediately. You completely misinterpreted PP's post and then responded completely inappropriately. You should figure out your triggers.

6 teachers in middle school x 1 kid
4 teachers in high school x 2 kids
I think honestly the teachers appreciate the letter from the kid more than the gift card, but we do both.
I stopped altogether in MS and HS. The teachers don't really know the kids and definitely don't know the parents. They are all just phoning it in.

We give the the specific teachers DS wants to thank--there are usually 2-3 each year that really click with him and he wants to appreciate them. This year math, history, and art, $10 each.

Ive never heard of a cap on limits, is that a thing in this area? I've never had money sent back fwiw. And how would they know in a class collection?? I only have 1 child and school is not his strong suit so I err on the side of giving more because I know his teachers work hard.
MCPS does— it’s $20. That’s the same as the gift limit for federal employees. I don’t know about the other districts, but I’d be incredibly surprised if they’re any different.
What do the teachers have to do with gifts over that limit? hand it into the school? report it? I didnt know there was a cap and I'm in MCPS, never occurred to me.

One year our room parent splurged and gave the teacher an overnight spa trip to the teacher for her and her husband to enjoy. Then we received an email following that telling us that the room balance was zero and that they had nothing left for the Valentine’s Day party or the end-of-the-year party as she sought additional class funding…Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Room parent suggested $100 per child for the whole year.
I would honestly assume she’s joking. That is so far beyond remotely reasonable that it can’t possibly be real.
