I can totally get why her & Tyler’s parents were angry.
I would be angry too if my child just gave away my Grandchild to another family.
The other Teen Moms made it work somehow even though they were also very young and had to struggle…..
Caitlyn and Tyler came from incredibly toxic families - jail, drinking, drugs. April and Butch couldn't look after their own kids, they had no standing to say anything to Caitlyn and Tyler for making a different choice.
I agree that April and Butch were not great parents.
Butch especially with his addictions as well as his jail stints.
But I can still empathize w/them about feeling betrayed when their children gave away their granddaughter. I cannot even fathom how I would feel if my child put up their own for adoption.
I would be so angry at them and likely never get over it.
Fundamentally I just do not see people as inanimate objects.
In my mind, shipping off a child in the same way that you do a FedEx package is just wrong.
It’s because she was not a FedEx package, but instead a person who would have physical, social and emotional needs that NO ONE in her entire extended family was capable of fulfilling, that she was placed with another family who could. If you haven’t watched her 16 & Pregnant episode you don’t know what you’re talking about.

I guess any publicity is good publicity for Bethany Christian Services?
Bethany Christian Services has horrible reviews online

Neither did C or T
It is not a happy story, they do not get along or even like each other
Bio parents still grieve a lot and have not been able to rebuild their lives
I used to think adoption was to save the life of the bio mom, so she could go to college and have the ability to go out, travel, hang out with friends without being burdened by a baby she cannot afford, but with them it crushed them
This is one reason I would never do an open adoption.

That is not such a pretty story. I had high hopes for them
She suffers from depression, neither has been able to get over the loss or start a new life
The adoptive parents seem a little cold, they are being manipulated with visitation that is promised and then cancelled
Ironically they could have kept their baby and been ok
Adoption does not always end in a beautiful fairy story
I doubt the adoptive parents had any idea the circus this show would bring. I can very much see myself being welcoming to regular visitation / relationship normally and then very very guarded and protective of a child when the visitation came with decades long reality tv side show of drama. who wouldn't want to protect their child from that. the parents (i forget their names) could easily drop out of the show any time and live a private life and most likely have more access
I doubt either party knew
Sounds really like they agreed to the open adoption if that is the only way to adopt the child, since the agreement cannot be legally force
I do not think C & T are guilty of rehashing the adoption on tv, That is the whole purpose of there being on the show, and the show is about teen parenting, growing up with a baby and in their case dealing with the aftermath of a happy adoption story
Except the adoptive parents want the adoption closed and use the show as an excuse
What is the point of agreeing to a meeting and then canceling at the last minute?
Or agreeing to yearly visits and then not letting them see the kid for 2 years?
Based on a little googling the adoptive parents have been quite willing to participate in the show
That aside, it is a pity neither C or T has managed to move on
Hopefully it works out better for the adoptee, her bio parents certainly come with a lot of baggage. Somehow they were sold this beautiful story about how wonderful adoption would be, but it didn’t turn out like that

Because they’ve been paid for 10 years to wallow in it. If they had just done the one episode and moved on with their lives they would be in a much healthier place. No amount of therapy is going to help them when their whole storyline is about being miserable about the adoption.
YES sing it sister.
