They talk about the US players, their play against England and where they see them in the future. Some of their points- US is very good now specially in midfield, only the top teams like Spain and Germany right now should be favorite against them. Those team can work the tight spaces and passing that would beat the US because of their youth and inexperience. In four years you do not want to draw the US.

Ian is joined by Flo Lloyd-Hughes and Carl Anka to look back at England’s 0-0 draw against an impressive USA side (08:26). They chat about England’s lack of dynamism, the USA’s strong midfield, and give flowers to Tyler Adams (13:25). There’s also a bit of a catch-up about how Ian is getting on in Qatar so far, including a shopping trip with Roy Keane

They’ve come along way since 2018 and the current players will be at their peak in 2026. I think they have a shot at the 2026 World Cup but also feel there is a fair amount of luck in international football. 2026 will be their best finish in the current era (since 1990).

lol. American fans are super excited that a couple of our players are riding the bench in the premiere league and somehow they expect us to win in 2026?

Four years is a long time. I don’t follow soccer that closely to know about current 17/18 years old who could make the 2026 team. In 2014 the team was old and pretty meh. They’re still just average but are so young with more players in euro leagues. Pulisic will hopefully move somewhere where he’ll start.

Brazil must be missing Firmino with Neymar out. His unselfish play and creativity would open their games up, they shouldn’t have to rely on a goal from Casemiro.

Personally I hope they never allow a winter World Cup again, the 5 days from club to national team (rather than a month) has been a great equalizer and has left many of the teams without time to find their rhythm. It may be exciting for some upsets, but the soccer has not been great.

There's another great match going on right now - Korea v. Ghana. Another stunning second-half turnaround with plenty of time left for more twists.

I can totally see that! It has been wild.

This morning's match between Serbia and Cameroon was incredible. So many twists and turns.

Ah, I missed that result too.

Yes Qatar qualified by being the host, but for others, you still need to qualify out of your region. Countries like New Zealand or Canada or Wales sometimes get to the World Cup while regional powerhouses like Italy or France or Colombia sometimes miss out if they have a few bad matches in qualifying because there are so many other strong teams in their region.
