Nobody we know well enough to ask to take us as we are leaving mid-day during a week day. I wouldn’t ask a friend to do this and have to figure out work arrangements. This is our burden.

A reputable car service, $95 plus tip. We would Uber back home for the same $40 plus tip mentioned above.
Secure parking would only be $200 total.
Are we being completely ridiculous? I’m so fearful of being across the globe and our house being broken into because we foolishly and willingly let someone in on the fact that our house would be empty. Does anyone else share this fear?
No. I don't share this fear. If you are so fearful, pay the higher price or drive yourself and park at the airport and call it a day.
