I think the Lord and Taylor anchor is still empty. It seems awfully close to the Merrifield location though.
I vote for that Lord and Taylor location, purely because that's convenient for me.
But it's also slightly separate from the mall and has its own parking. Merrifield is relatively close, but driving-wise it's really not. A Tyson's target could serve a large swath of residential areas.
Or they could put it where the closed Bed, Bath, and Beyond is, which would be glorious.
Do you live anywhere around Vienna/Tysons? Did you use that BBB much? If you know that location well you wouldn't call it "glorious." Unless there were major road changes, which isn't going to happen there since it's almost beneath an established overpass (123 going over 7) -- a Target there would create truly horrible traffic issues. The site's entrance off 123 is at a small stoplight that is just yards down from a much larger intersection and there is no way to route traffic from the large intersection directly into the parking lot for that location. There will be substantial backups into the parking lot to get out, backups on 123 to get in, blockage on 123 at that tiny stoplight that will affect the larger intersection, etc. Entering the lot from the back requires using a small access road with a nearly right-angle curve in it that likely can't be altered or straightened. Just a horrible location for a very high-traffic store like a Target.

It would be close but there are definitely other locations closer/just as close. There are two Sterling Targets within like two miles of each other - so confusing!
There's a smaller Target less than 2 miles down 29 in Falls Church (Tinner Hill), which is also only like 2 miles to the Seven Corners Target. Target has taken over lots of vacant anchor spots in other malls so it could work.
Gross Target at Timber Hill. Like a convenience store. I wish they anchored them to shopping malls instead of making stand alone stores.
Anonymous wrote:Is Target expected to still be in business 6 months from now? From what I have heard on the news this past Holiday season was not kind to them and they will be lucky to survive 6 months into the new year.

I loved that Walmart when I lived over there. I actually hate Target though. It’s like Walmart, but double or triple price.

I wish they'd put a Wegman's there. The Wegman's currently at Tysons is too small and hard to get to.

This has always been one big downside to living here for me -- PITA to get to stores. Target, Costco, Home Depot. So much requires annoyingly long drives or drives through a lot of traffic to get to.
