I agree. I've tried the Tillamook and despite liking some of their other flavors, was really disappointed.
I like smooth, creamy ice cream and Costco's is that, plus a nice rich vanilla flavor.
You obviously haven’t tried some of the other brands mentioned.
Have you tried the Costco brand?
Yes, have YOU tried Graeter’s or a Blue Bell?
I've had Graeter's, in Ohio in a couple of their locations. Although not vanilla, but their chocolate chunk is hands down one of my favorites. Do DMV stores carry Graeters? And I don't think I've seen Blue Bell in stores here.

Graeters is the bomb! Top rated in the nation. It’s next level ice cream so not widely available. Blue Bell is only in the south and second best.
Neither you can find here, these people haven’t had ice cream till they’ve had these.

+1. Hands down and was named in the top 3 best ice cream shops in the nation.

Don’t typically think HD is anything special but every time I try their vanilla bean I’m like “damn that’s good!” It reminds you vanilla is an actual flavor, and I can pronounce all of the ingredients: cream, milk, sugar, egg yolk, vanilla bean, vanilla extract.
No I don’t work for Häagen-Dazs lol.

Tiamook is over rated IMO, it is too whipped and fluffy.

Even Graeters has Carob Bean Gum and Guar Gum.
The thread is about the best vanilla ice cream in terms of taste. Not ingredients.
