Who gets in, if not a 1570 SAT?? Assuming they also have great grades and extracurriculars - what is UVA looking for?
1200 and straight C's with weak or none extracurriculars?

Yes, EA admit rate about a percentage point higher than RD.
So, maybe it is harder EA if you presume the applicants are higher stats who are applying elsewhere...
Not necessarily. I would assume hardest RD because that is lowest acceptance rate. In EA, You can be deferred to RD.

The reason UVA doesn't have high ED numbers is because it is relatively new - only reinstated ED in the past few years. Last year more than 35,000 students applied EA to UVA and significantly less applied ED or RD. EA application numbers at UVA used to be manageable but now the vast majority apply EA. If you want your application lost in the crowd, apply EA. If you are qualified and UVA is your first choice, ED is now by far the way to go.

btw good thing that it was bottom of the list. Applied just because it was instate.
Kid was adventurous and wanted to get out of VA.

Wow these are high scores. When I was in high school, 1400 was considered decent for Duke, and 1300 for UNC. Some of this is the result of SAT renorming that raised the scores, but UVa was never considered as needing such high scores.
