We are a mixed race family and live in Columbia. Our kids are in college now and it was a great experience for them. Only drawback to Columbia is the HOA fee is based on home value and does not include access to the pools and gym. We pay over $2500 per year to the HOA for a home access at about $1M

Don't do PG, and I say this as someone who lived in Bowie, MD for several years. The schools will always be more than questionable and MS-13 is running through many middle schools and high schools.

It's not close in DC area but within 100 miles, go to Urbana or Frederick, MD. Diverse, better schools than PG.

Move to NoVa if you want good schools and excellent growth in the future. In DC, it is a hit or a miss and same for MD.
