Apply to the programs your child is interested in, and see how it goes….. Do not let a forum of strangers dictate your child’s choices.
Anonymous wrote:Yes. They DO NOT take just tip top kids, if you want it -apply. Blair has three 9th grade levels of math for the magnet kids - and have for YEARS. They are looking for a variety. That said, your kid has to want to work & be challenged. Go for it. Don’t let detractors sway you. Half this forum is a mind game trying to psych people out.

This is spring 2021.
So I would think a kid with one B has a chance, if my kid could get waitlisted.
And yes we are white.
What subjects were they in? They don’t even have access to non-STEM subject grades. What was his MAP-M, out of interest?
Never heard this. Citation? Thx!
The magnet coordinator at Blair told everyone in the presentation on Monday night.
So CAP, VAC and the IB programs only care about Stem grades, or your writing skills aren't coherent enough to express that you were only talking about one Blair magnet?
Of course they're talking about Blair silly. That's the only magnet that matters!

With those grades, you really expected your child to be accepted? Sounds like they would have been better off not in Magnet.
LMAO, you do realize that kids with 98th percentile on standardized tests can get B's and C's (and get accepted for magnet programs)?
