Did you do the pre-natal testing around 10 weeks?
I did CVS with all my AMA pregnancies. The test gives a definitive answer about all 23 chromosomes. It even catches partial deletions and duplications. It also test for about 200 rare genetic conditions - rare, but when you combine them all your chance is not as tiny as it might appear at first.
I did have a Down pregnancy at age 38, which I terminated. My pregnancy at 40 was healthy and resulted in the most amazing child. I couldn't have dreamt her up that perfect and healthy even if I tried. All my pregnancies were conceived easily. I would say up to age 44 it's quite possible to get pregnant. 44-46 unlikely, but not impossible. My mom had my youngest sib at 45 back in the 80s with zero assistance!
