He specifically said that, plus gender, is all the info they get. Are you saying he was lying?
Not at all. He was amazing! I suppose I am reading into it because I am in a similar position at my job where I have to be transparent but also guard information and there were a lot of "well, really"s and pregnant pauses and a clear effort to keep the emphasis on the right stuff. I would venture to guess - just my guess - that if Blair gets any input at all it's to form a pool and central office decides. Didn't he say that Blair used to decide their own admissions and no longer does? I might have misheard but I thought he said they were pretty much not the deciders.

I didn’t hear him say gender and I was listening out for it.

He didn’t say 30 middle schools represented each year. Maybe that’s what he meant but he might have also meant that it’s 30 throughout all for high school grade levels of the magnet.

No. No Teacher Recommendations, no Map-R (for SMCSM). Just 7th grades and Q1 8th grades + Map-M + essays/statements. That's it.
What I didn't understand from last night's meeting is whether or not they know if kids went to the TPMS magnet. Transcripts clearly list that the 7th grade math class was "Mag Algebra I" which is only available at TPMS. It also indicates the math class was different (2x speed + more content). Is that scrubbed to eliminate the "Mag" - I think that would be disingenuous and unfair, only because the class is materially different. The answers were unclear.
just checked 2018/2019 of TPMS math on DC's transcript. Algebra 1A and Algebra 1B
Oh I see that too. Weird though because this year is Mag Geometry.
Last year was magnet algebra too, but it isn’t listed that way once completed, it seems.
It's odd that they redact Math but not Sci or CompSci then: those show up as Mag on the report cards. Anyway assuming they see the whole report card, it will be obvious purely because Mag kids have 8 classes and all other kids have 7.
Do we know that they see the entire report card, though? Based what they said at the Blair magnet open house last night, I got the impression that they only see the math and science grades.

I think they will know. It makes sense because a B in that class is very different than a B in regular Algebra.
Magnet kids aren’t getting Bs! Are they?!!!
Spanish at TPMS is not easy for some. Not sure what impact that might have on magnet selection though. My Magnet kids lowest grade is an A- in PE.
