Parents should demand more on behalf of teachers. This was wild. I know that optimal teaching conditions are learning conditions too. DC parents should help them get a contract. If you disagree think about the conditions you want your students to learn in and the standard you set. Parents should rise up and help pressure Mayor Bowser as she funds the police and principals to Fund and truly support teachers.
what a joke. are teachers fighting for academic standards?

But they made DCPS into a place where I would be willing to send my kids. My spouse and I assumed we would have to move to the burbs by the time our kids got to school age but it turns out that we've been able to stay in DC, relatively happy with the schools. So I really don't care about much else. I've had plenty of people in my workplace that are mean too. But they got the job done. Deal with it.
Michelle Rhee is not a good human being. She is better than her husband but that is a distinction without difference.

Michelle Rhee was terrible , but I never saw her and Melissa Kim as cut from the same cloth. Just because they came up at the same time? They had totally different trajectories. Or because they are both Asian? They seem like night and day to me, why are people conflating them?
