Teachers are not the ones who came up with the low academic standards like students not having to turn in work and still receiving a 63, ensuring there is no true penalty for not doing anything. Teachers did not create the lax attendance policy. It’s not our fault, but you still don’t think we deserve a contract? The teachers who teach your children don’t deserve a contract? Why do you bother to send them to public school?

Michelle Rhee was terrible , but I never saw her and Melissa Kim as cut from the same cloth. Just because they came up at the same time? They had totally different trajectories. Or because they are both Asian? They seem like night and day to me, why are people conflating them?
No idea. I don't know anything about Melissa Kim. I posted that in response to a positive comment about Rhee. Michelle Rhee and Kevin Johnson should never be rehabilitated.

Huh, I was working in DCPS when Melissa Kim was principal of Deal. She always seemed really normal to me and she turned Deal around into the desirable school it is. She may not be a great leader now (?) But she was then, so it makes me give her a lot of benefit of the doubt.
