I have a kid in the upper school. They have very advanced classes for very advanced kids. Lots of Nysmith students go here. My kid is sporty and academically average, they have classes and sports for him. Some kids are artsy, they have an amazing arts, dance, and theatre program. Their robotics program is top notch, they beat colleges in competitions. Their latin department is the best in the region.
They have students from Maryland, Alexandria, DC, all over Northern Va. It's exceptionally diverse which matches the diversity of the areas the students come from.
Do I care how the school came to be? No. We all live in America right? We all know how this country came to be. It's not stopping you from living here.
I care how FH came to be. I live in this country because, like most people who are born, raised and educated here, I chose the path of least resistance. However, avoiding FH is VERY easy. It’s extremely simple to avoid paying $48,000 annually for an aggressively mediocre segregation academy. I would be embarrassed to send my children to FH for free. I can’t imagine paying for that humiliation.
But to each his or her own.
You sound hysterical.
Therapy helps.
You sound like the Flint Hill parents that give the school a bad name.

There are many historically shameful things that happened in Va …. And yet we still live here.

There is a lot of hate toward the school by families who believe their schools are superior or former students where the school didn’t work for them. Your priorities should guide you not DCUM.
