Thanks Pp. This is motivation for me. I hadn’t thought about the exterior doors.

Cabinets and all doors need to be done a lot more often than walls imo. Doors especially collect a lot of grime. Anywhere there is oil, dust will become grime. So kitchens and things we touch need more attention.

Disagree. It's the type of paint you get that matters.

You can spend $200 per gallon on flat paint but it's still flat paint and it will get marked up easily.

We tried doing satin in some rooms and I love it. It has a higher sheen than normal and MUCH easier to clean. It's similar to semi gloss.

I do this regularly in between dustings. Walls get dusty and my Swiffer does magic.

I use a rag to wipe up the walls in high traffic areas. Just use a squirt bottle with vinegar, water and a few drops of dawn. But I don't scrub top to bottom. Just where I noticed scuffs and hand prints from my dirty children.

This isn’t how I would spend my time if it were limited, in most cases. This used to be much more of a thing because of smoking and non central hvac. If you have anyone who smokes, if you live on a busier road or a gravel road, or if you have the windows open a lot of the time this will be more crucial. Also pets and kids, for the portion of the walls in their reach. If you live in the burbs with central hvac on most of the time and no smokers? You don’t need to do this except in the kitchen. You’ll probably repaint by the time it is needed in the bedrooms and such.

I also have anxiety that my house smells bad so I do this. It's especially important with kids because those dirty little hands get everywhere. I took my niece to a store and she said "This place smells exactly like your house." Since she's only 7 I think she was being honest, and the place was the same age and building style as my house and smelled pretty strongly of pine wood. I felt relieved.

This post, man. I am barely keeping my house decent between visits from the cleaner. But washing the frigging walls?! I am envious but will never, ever do this.
