Women in overwhelming numbers, outlive their partners, no matter if their partners are older, younger or same age aa them. Which makes case for marrying your own age group. Not necessarily exact year but just a couple of year range.

Haha, I wholeheartedly agree. I've been dating 28-30 y.o. men for about 15 years, first older and then younger, and I ended up marrying one when I was 35. In fact, I've never dated anyone under 28.

I have a friend who married a man 15 years older. She has "aged up" to meet where he is. She acts, dresses and seems much older than her age. She doesn't get pop culture references of our peer group because they don't watch Netflix or listen to music made in the 2000's. He dresses like it's 1988 and she's a bit more updated but she wears "old" accessories like scarves and outdated jewelry which make her seem like she could be his age.

I married my DH when I was 30 and he was 35. I see no differences whatsoever as it relates to age and we are in our 40’s now. My parents are 8 years apart in their 70’s and still going strong.

Based on personal experience, I don't think age related. I'm 3 years older than DH and my libido is much higher than his (even if it's a touch lower than in my twenties). I do feel a million times more confident in my body at 43 than I did at 23, so old age does have some advantages.

No. Its a different generation. I think you can marry someone who is 2-3 years younger or older than you if you have the option. It could also be that you are out of options and you marry whoever is available and they are that much younger or older than you.

Terrible idea OP . Look at actuarial charts or go to an old folks home. Women on average live longer. Go younger!

At 24 DH was ready to date to get married so me being a couple years older meant I was also ready. Most women his age weren’t interested in serious relationships yet so it made sense for him to go a little bit older.

Yes, this seems accurate in dc. I don’t think 5 yrs is that much. 10 yrs seems a lot as one would have been in elementary and one in college which seems more of a frame of reference not at all in sync. Someone 15 may have liked the same music as a 20 yr old, for example.

I have found who likes what music or sitcoms pretty inconsequential in a serious relationship.
