Asking because of when my kid's school starts (in Sept, sometimes after labor day), I don't think they'll be able to apply this early next year..
This is my concern as well. DS is a junior and has at least five schools on his list that are rolling, four of them open apps in late July/ early August. Senior year starts in September. Counselor is saying nothing gets sent to schools until three weeks after the first day of school
Most Rolling schools will ask for self reported grades - either through Common App, Coalition App or the SRAR website. You don’t need official transcripts for these schools unless you get admitted and go there. Most of them will not require letters of recommendation either - so you don’t need to worry about that. In fact, many will say that they don’t even look at LORs. Just get the application in ASAP and have the Common App or one major essay finished by beginning of August if possible.
I highly suggest that you order one official transcript sent or picked up by you/DC at the end of Junior year that includes final grades for Junior year. You will need this to enter the self reported transcript and it must match the official transcript exactly once applications and the SRAR opens over summer. It’s very hard to get these over the summer at a lot of schools when admin is not working much. FYI
