Right after 5th birthday- but he was a little motor delayed, he could balance bike very easily starting around age 2 but the rhythm of pedaling took him practice. He couldn’t even pedal a seated trike or anything. So I’m sure if he didn’t have that motor issue it would have been earlier.

The problem is they have to ride it. Both my kids really disliked the balance bike and preferred scooters. One eventually got a big bike with training wheels and loved that. Idk kids are different from each other.

My oldest is nearly 8 and still not quite there. She’s not that motivated and our neighborhood is super hilly so we have to go to the school to practice. I wish we had pushed it earlier because she doesn’t really care that she isn’t riding but does care that she can’t if that makes sense. Maybe by next summer so she can ride to the pool.
