I would just add her to my account and give her a separate login. I think you have have so many if you are a prime member but forget how many...if it's just two or three. Or, I would offer to set her up an account of her own.

When you offer to order it for her ask her to give you her credit card number (over the phone). When she says, “Incant do that. I don’t give out my credit card” reply, “Good. That’s the way to avoid problems. Same reason why I don’t give out my passwords”

I do not give anyone any of my passwords. Period.

I would give that woman anything she wants, she's a saint! I can't ever thank her enough for raising such a wonderful guy as my husband and treating me like the daughter she always wanted.

People who aren’t “thieves” can still make the mistake of shipping to the wrong address, using the wrong credit card, or changing account details. They can also make the mistake (or deliberate action) of thinking that being given the password once = can use it whenever. And yes, people who aren’t thieves can still be snoops.

It’s 2022. We’ve all been taught, over and over again, why it’s dumb to give out passwords—and it’s not even NECESSARY to give out a password to share Prime benefits, as we’ve seen from several helpful people in this thread. What is wrong with YOU?

While I agree with you not to share the password, you can archive past items and she'd have to really dig and know where to look for find them. I don't have prime, wouldn't use it enough to justify the cost, but occasionally ask someone if they can order something for me via prime and then send the money right then.

Anyone snoopish enough to ask for the password will be the type who will “dig.”

Another easy way to manage your own Amazon account is to not give the password to anyone.

No way. Very suspect that she doesn't want you to place the order for her. She can send you a link to exactly what she wants and you can have it shipped directly to to her house. She does not need access to your account, to see everything you purchase, etc.

People will be along to tell you "oh, don't hurt her feelings, just give it to her and you can always change it later." Ignore them. Set the boundary now.
