You can do it!

I started with almost your same stats, age, height, weight + 2 more lbs, and 1-2 lbs a week is exactly what you should be aiming for for consistent, sustainable weight loss. I just posted my check in above and I’m down 35 lbs in just over 4 months. Just keep at it and the pounds will add up.

1.4 lb weight loss in 1 week is frustrating?? That's a very good amount. Esp. since you don't have a large amount to lose.

Good job you! You're 8% of the way there after a week. It's good to aim for about a pound a week -- when you get much over that it can stress out the body. This is a great pace! Please don't get discouraged if every week doesn't show this much progress even if you are working just as hard.

Do you have a peloton? I’ve been incredibly successful at exercising daily once I got a peloton. It takes the dread out of it. You can also just download the peloton app and have access to all their strength classes, which are AMAZING. While you diet, you can build muscle and you will really see the difference by January!

I’m down another 2lbs for a total of 33. 179 down to 146 in exactly 4 months.

Will check in again next week. How is everyone else doing?

Hey this is great work here PP! Good on you -- that's a big change in 4 months!

Thank you!

Checking in again this week. Down another 2 lbs. 35 total. 4 more to go to my next goal. I weigh less now than I did in college, but my weight has shifted as an adult, so it’s harder for me to see the magnitude of what I’ve lost. I mostly see it in my face, neck, and chest. My waist and thighs seem to still have a ways to go.

I’m focusing more on toning now, though I would like to continue to lose more weight. I think I probably need to join a gym so I can start working with weights, I only have a set of 5lb weights at home.

I found that I use weights much more consistently if they are in my house rather than having to go to a gym. Maybe buy a set of 10s and 15s and that might be enough!

This is me, total loss of 8 now, 17 left to go. Very slow path, but at least in the right direction. I'm not being too diligent--basically eating the amount that would sustain my target weight on most days and eating less than that 2-3 days a week. I'm also trying different ways to amp up my usual walking routine by adding in some faster activity and some minor weight training (just at home with hand weights and body weight like push-ups, planks, squats and lunges).

Go, you!!! Nice work! Congrats to all these posters, you are very inspiring!

I went to a nutritionist this week and I restarted my journey today. My weight has not changed in 10 years but suddenly my stomach is bigger. I’m overweight, I probably have 70 lbs to lose. I’m going to check in regularly- code name 251.

Weekends are usually my kryptonite - kids sports and poor planning often lead to takeout and early bedtime! Today was a success though - first day of soccer games and I got in a long workout afterwards, with a big salad for dinner. Now I just have to get myself in bed before the craving for ice cream hits 😂

I’m new to this thread, but hoping I can stay accountable. I’m 140 (10lbs over my normal weight) after a rough 7 months where I stopped exercising and started eating crap.

About to get on the peloton now!
