But when my dad was sick with cancer she visited and brought him food and went and sat with him for some of his chemo treatments when I couldn’t be there. My daughter is going to college and she just brought her a gift basket of things for her dorm room. She is one of the kindest people I’ve ever met. So maybe you can stop looking down on people you think you are superior to.
This. Also, watch the documentary Hillbilly on Amazon right now. You have no idea how privileged you are. Kindness in your life, please

Were these fat white families? Would you have more understanding if they were black families and overweight?
Perhaps get out of your bubble more often and see the country. Not just the elite parts of the country. It may not be pretty but hiding in your tower isn't helping anything.

This is so patronizing I can’t even. Did you really think fat Trump supporters are incapable of basic human decency??
Anonymous wrote:And it amazes me that, wherever we go, there are entire families where everyone is not just fat, but morbidly obese. Even the kids, who are more often than no inhaling a bag of chips or drinking sugary soda.
And the Venn diagram of these people and those sporting some sort of patriotic/Let’s Go Brandon/Trump gear is a circle.
Can’t wait to get back home to DC.

Anonymous wrote:Somewhat related to the topic but I didn't realize how large the people in this country have become until the other day. My son needed a quick pair of pants so we ran to Walmart. My son is tall and lean and he wears a medium. Finding a medium was akin to searching for a unicorn. However, XL-3XL were a plenty.

Agreed. I usually vote progressive, but it’s nasty of OP to be so judgmental. Honestly, it’s one of the reasons my family left DC. I’d rather be around a political mix of people - even people who are politically apathetic or don’t like to pick a party label. It’s better than being in a community where if you aren’t hewing to the party line you’re an outsider. We spent time in WV and NC this summer, as well as liberal Maine and MD. It was nice to be out of the bubbles.
