Our immediate next door neighbors were a group of college guys for a couple of years. They were polite, quiet, and courteous. Actually pretty great neighbors.

Now, there are a group of college girls living there. They are a nightmare. Oblivious, rude, loud. Trash everywhere. Awful.

OMG we have a nightmare house on our street like this. Constant loud drunken parties, constant stream of kids, often fights (usually some girls screaming their head off) trash all over the place. Constant calls to police that go no where. Yes undergrads. It’s literally like animal house. Not a chance the immediate neighbors could sell their homes.

Our old neighbor rented his house (5BR) to a group of guys. We never knew how many actually lived there because there were so many different people there over the year.

Aside from occasional loud music blaring from the garage during the day on the weekend and day drinking in their driveway it was fine. They always quieted down by 7/8 pm so it was never really a problem. It was more amusing watching their drunken antics. It was quite comical.

Turns out 3 of them were teachers.

Just like anything in life, it’s a total crapshoot. They’ll probably throw a party (or other sort of social gathering) every once in a while, but unless you’re a couple of blocks from campus, it won’t be that regular of a thing. I’ve had college students next door in the past and they haven’t been the most problematic neighbors by a long shot. Our neighbors from hell were a family with a lot of relatives moving in and out on a temporary basis. Lots of drama, yelling, the occasional police visit, a bazillion cars, etc. At least college students are usually only there for 1-2 lease cycles and then graduate and move on.

Hopefully they’ll be hotties!

OP is pathetic, and so is every poster who has already come to judgment before these kids have even moved in.

Oh, and even if they're a little loud from time to time, I'm sure your sensitivities can take it.

OMG the people in my kid's college town are like this.
Major university (over 30,000 students including grad, law school, med school, etc.) that has been in place for over 150 years--yet the locals want the college students to "just go home."

But the OP is dealing with undergraduates. Meanwhile, you were dealing with recent college graduates who have jobs and are presumably were paying for the rent out of their own salaries.

My son is in medical school living near campus in a group home. All they do is study and they don't have parties.

Stop being a Karen and get a life.

If there are women, they likely want to be in a safer neighborhood, which is where any parent would hope

I was one of the kids renting a townhouse in Georgetown years back. I don’t think we bothered our neighbors too much…

I lived near several Catholic U student homes (as in, single family and townhomes rented to students) in Brookland about 5 years ago. It was never a problem.

I've always found that working/middle class college kids are better neighbors than the rich kids.
