As you can read in the headline: Philly is “awash in guns.”
More guns = more gun crime = more deaths.
It’s that simple.
Is it really that simple?
Nothing to do with flailing attempts at progressive criminal justice reform, defunding the police, “compassionate alternatives to incarceration” and other related nonsense? At some point, whether it’s Cali, NY, dc or otherwise, once crime has reached a fever pitch a result of progressive policy, there will be an overcorrection to address the insanity. Obviously no one wants to be wrong. No one wants to admit their methods aren’t working, but realistically we are less safe with progressives and their soft on crime policies. I am socially liberal. I voted for Biden. I live in city. I am just tired of weakness. You’re making my neighborhood in Capitol Hill less safe. People like Charles Allen or Nadeau. It’s the same sht in Philadelphia. You get these new school city council people who have focus groups comprised of sociologists and dei consultants who want to fix the world by endlessly “studying the roots causes of poverty” while implementing “restorative justice” or hiring “violence interruptors” instead of just cracking down and stopping the violence. It’s so annoying we’re in this science experiment stage right now which is so clearly failing. People will get away with what they can and right now they know that with progressives in charge there is now limit to what they can do. Carjackings, puppy stealing at gun point, atv riding all over the streets, and then they’re released right back out without consequence. It’s absurd, and then voters vote for it all over again to look virtuous.
Did you actually research your positions? Did you know that jail is not a good deterrent for crime? Did you know that states and countries that have much fewer guns have less gun violence? Did you know that risk factors include family, economics, and community? Did you know that paying people to cash got them off streets faster? Do you know that several studies show that several restorative justice studies show recidivism is way down when applied?
Agree that you should vote for the Dems, even though you blame them. The GOP has always widened the economic gap, which is directly liked to crime. You think it’s bad now, look at Brazil. I also think that lately we can see they’re in to consolidating power and using the police to suit their own needs. That shouldn’t fly with anyone who cites crime as a problem like you do. They also encourage gun ownership, so a deadly mix that will only continue to grow worse.
I find it rich that people criticize the Dems trying to find creative ways to solve societal ills. Why don’t you ask the GOP to restrict guns to see if that makes a difference? Why don’t you ask the GOP to ask corporations to pay a living wage and stop giving workers part time shifts so they can avoid paying health care premiums, so those people send up on public assistance? Why don’t you ask them to divert money from our defense budget or corn subsidies to fund educational programs?
Get real.
I stopped reading after jail is not a good deterrent for crime. Your position is laughable and anecdotal.

Amen. Does anyone know what PR firm Trump and Putin use to try to manage conversations here? Do they have their own firms or share?

The only shootings that democrats care about are when suburban whites are at risk like school shootings, malls etc. The only other example is shootings by white supremacists. They ignore even the vast majority of Mass shootings. Detroit has been having multiple mass shootings each week now. You won’t about that anywhere in the msm. We’ve had mass shootings even in the dc area that while it initially got coverage was later buried such as the smithsville mass shooting, the rite aid warehouse mass shooting

Dems may be looking for creative ways to fix social problems but the issue is that they don’t work and are worsening the problem. Letting career criminals back out on the street is having the predictable effect of increasing crime.
You clearly didn’t read my post and are just parroting words fed to you.
