If you're trying to avoid snobbery, I'd find out where PP lives and avoid that location...![]()
HAHA yea.
Vienna has money but people are not snobby like mclean and bethesda. I swear the vast majority of people live there because of the title and nothing more. people have money in vienna and live there because of all the shops, activities and neighbors.
Yeah, the fact that Bethesda and McLean have nicer houses and better schools (both public and private) and are closer to DC has nothing to do with it.
Vienna does have more fast food joints if that’s important to you.

Median HHI in Vienna is $168k while HHI in Bethesda is $172k. It is really absurd to claim Vienna is significantly less wealthy than Bethesda.

It’s not that affluent and it definitely isn’t close-in to DC. But if you don’t mind congestion, commuter hell, and a ton of families with very narrow interests, it’s probably better than living in Herndon or Ashburn.
Vienna resident here, please do enlighten me, what are my narrow interests?![]()
How have i lived so far, without realizing you could mansplain it to me.

People love living in Vienna, so as long as you get involved whether that be through your kids schools, activities with other adults your age, etc you’ll be fine. Many people grow up in Vienna and move back. It has a lot of traffic but also somehow has a small town feel in the middle of Northern Virginia.
I live in Vienna and I agree with this.
+1. I especially encourage you to get involved somewhere. I find the people pretty nice, actually, but they definitely bond and build communities and it's harder to break in over time. There are quite a few locally owned businesses that seem to have been around for awhile so people know the owners in the community. Baseball is a big thing. Soccer is pretty big too. I like that it's safe and my kids can ride to the town center and meet friends.

Uhh, Bethesda ain't first tier friend.
