I hate to be an outlier here - the concept is interesting, and the actress who plays Woo Young-woo was great, but somehow this didn't hold my interest - I think it is a little too soap-opera-ish for me. I wanted to love it because my daughter has ASD, but I just didn't.

Now that I'm done with EAW what kdrama should I watch next? I've tried a few and the only other that grabbed my attention was Crash Landing for You.

I was referring to the clothes, not the bodies. Many of the female leads are very slim, but it's not universal.


I was admiring Soo-Yeon’s clothes, very stylish but still professional. I loved the way she dressed.

I was referring to the clothes, not the bodies. Many of the female leads are very slim, but it's not universal.

Thank you all so much for this recommendation! I just finished the final episode and my face is completely puffy from crying through the end. I never thought any other Kdrama could top “Crash Landing on You,” but I honestly liked “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” even more. I’m just sad it’s over!

I loved the way Attorney Jung bonded right away with Hairy Boss and Geurami on Jeju. They were a fun, odd threesome.

Re: single seasons. The single season format is one of the things I love about kdramas. It makes the stories more cohesive, complete, and tightly written, instead and drifting and repetitive like multiple-season American programs. I fear the influence of Netflix, though, on that aspect of kdramas.

The overwhelming majority of writers are women, too, which may be why PP noticed more empathetic writing. EAW was written by the successful Hong sisters.


Oops, my mistake. The Hong sisters are writing the other current, very popular kdrama, Alchemy of Souls.

I am halfway through this show and really enjoy it. One thing I noted is a lot of emphaphetic speaking… the lawyers acknowledging a client’s hurt feelings etc. that was nice and surprising to me. Is that common in Korean culture? There also seems to be no consequences for bad acts like the post about Hanbana’s hiring practice, Woo disappearing etc.

Lastly, it must be so hard to grow an intimate relationship with an autistic person … she just cannot give emotional support but needs a lot of accommodations.

I really enjoyed the last episode and parts of it will linger in my mind for a while . Yes there were a lot of loose threads and back stories to be told on many of the characters, however from the perspective of Attorney Woo and her journey - it was a well done closure to this part of her journey. Yet still a lot to look forward if season 2 happens. Absolutely loved the visuals and how they closed the last 5 minutes.

I wouldn’t judge a country’s fashion sensibilities on the basis of television. Someone who came to the United States expecting to see women walking around in Shonda Rimes or Mad Men getups would be pretty disappointed.
