I find it very interesting that they put it out there that the baby was conceived in November. I have never heard anyone say that as part of birth / pending birth announcement. She is trying to save face for the December scandal, but I just find it weird. And is conceived even the right word in this type of pregnancy?

I can’t imagine using a child as a meal ticket and intentionally bringing a child into this world whose father has said he will not acknowledge and emotionally support my child. But then again, I wouldn’t have a baby with a man who has children with at least two other women. None of which he is a FT parent to.

I find it way more disturbing how many (usually white UMC) women are ready to jump in and patronize other women who choose to carry a pregnancy for another woman by assuming they're being exploited and are too stupid to make their own choices about what they do with their own bodies. Back in late 2003/2004, as a civilian federal employee, I took a detail to work in Iraq because it paid a LOT of money. I exploited that opportunity but, while it was dangerous, the federal government was not exploiting me.

In the same sense, an appropriately compensated surrogate is also exploiting an opportunity. She is not, necessarily, being exploited herself.

Capitalism isn't necessarily the dirty word you think it is.
