But yeah, you can't go to another country and not follow their rules and then when you don't be shocked about consequences.
I'm sorry I don't think she deserves 10 years but that's up to Russia, not us
10 years is typical drug sentence even in the us

The type she is, not too educated about these things
What type is she, exactly?

Anonymous wrote:Stop saying residue; she was carrying vaporizer pens and marijuana cartomizers. That’s illegal in Russia and a lot of other places.

Now she only had .7 grams of cannabis oil which is almost nothing. 10 years is a max sentence, if they give her that then it is wrong and purely as a negotiation move. If she gets a year or less then that likely makes sense, she’s already served like 4 months.
If she were a Russian citizen anything under 6 grams would be considered an administrative offense. She'd have to pay a fine but no jail time. Russia is 100% using her as a political pawn. The fact that she is getting harsher treatment than anyone else would have is unjust. To match Russia's "fairness" toward US citizens, maybe the US should do the same thing - start rounding up and incarcerating any Putin-connected Russian citizens in the US for administrative-offense level things like unpaid parking tickets and offer to send them to Russia as prisoner exchange. That would be comparably fair to what Russia is doing.
I’m all for this plan. I just don’t think we should exchange Victor Bout who is a mass murderer, for Britney Griner. Round up some oligarchs, trump up the charges and exchange them for Britney.
