Loved her. She saw me through my first pregnancy. I'm not Black, but thought she was an excellent physician. I requested her for every appt.

I really like Dr Tabitha Andre at physicians and midwives.

My Black friend referred me to her (I’m not black - I’m who’re, but was looking for someone who deals with cysts and she did a csection for a different friend who also really liked her).

If you think only people of a certain race don't make racist comments you're racist, OP.

Oh shut up.

Tons of literature show Black women are safer in pregnancy and birth when their provider is also a Black woman. There’s nothing wrong with OP wanting a AA doctor.

I would follow her to the ends of the earth. I had a very scary delivery that turned into an emergency C section and she was amazing throughout it all (not to mention for years prior). I had to switch practices due to insurances changes, but I'm at the point where I would pay out of pocket to keep seeing her.

I agree 100%- Dr Davis delivered my first baby and love her- professional with a great calming energy. Highly recommend!

+3 for Dr. Davis, and Lightfoote is wonderful too. I can see why people don’t like her (she can come off a bit bougie - aka snobby) but she’s great once you know her. I think Foxhall is generally a good practice for black mothers. A different doctor in the practice delivered my first baby and she was incredible.

+4 for Dr. Davis. Late to this thread but Dr. Davis is my primary at Foxhall. She guided me through my first pregnancy/l&d and two subsequent losses, including an ectopic. I saw her to diagnose the ectopic but she was not on call so unable to do my surgery. However, she coached me on what to request from the nursing staff (I didn't look like I was in an emergency surgery situation, no pain etc.) to ensure they took me seriously, which I deeply appreciated. I also do like Dr. Lightfoote but yes, echoing previous posters, I understand why others might not 'vibe' with her.

She was not my doc, but I had her in the rotation and found her to be just fine (I'm Black). I'm guessing some folks didn't find her 'solicitous' enough. I will say Foxhall overall is good for AMA. With both pregnancies they watched me closely (age was only risk with first; self-resolved placenta previa with 2nd), but my BP spiked at my last prenatal visit and was sternly (I'm stubborn) told that I was having that baby that day by a white doctor. In hindsight, I'm immensely grateful.

Dr. Penn is amazing! He is so compassionate and takes time to answer questions.

I see some other poster had less than good experiences with Dr. Lightfoote at Foxhall, but wanted to offer a different experience - found her to be really great. Baby was in distress during delivery and she was wonderful. Have had two with her.
