Night Sky is a nice little sci-fi drama. Sissy Spacek and JK Simmons are pretty good….and the intersecting plot lines and flashbacks add a lot to the overall theme. The supporting cast is very solid.

DP, not the one above -- If you like NZ shows, and like mysteries/police procedurals, try The Brokenwood Mysteries. It's on Acorn but might stream elsewhere. New season coming soon but start from the beginning. You can watch single episodes or come in late, for sure, but you won't know the residents of quirky little Brokenwood as well--many characters recur throughout the series. Vibe is pretty low-key; murders fairly weird; I like the cops a lot.

Have we mentioned The Heart Guy for Aussie shows? Also for really offbeat funny, staring Leo from Offspring, try The Moodys (after Moodys, I re-watched Leo’s Offsprinf season and enjoyed it much more).

Np who also liked Something Trivial and loved Offspring and Wonderland. would add Step Dave, a New Zealand show about a young single guy who falls for a hot middle aged woman with kids. Great to see entertaining shows savoy peeler my age or, gasp, older, but still hot and having fun.

Party tricks with the Offspring lead is also pretty good, just short

I will warn you upfront there is a storyline in season 2 that is... bad. But everything is really good, I can overlook it. Mostly.

I also recently watched the Leftovers -- based on a book, it's about what would happen if some small percent (I can't remember if it's like 2%? 3%?) of the world's population just vanished in a moment. Like how would people cope with that, how would religions respond, how would people move forward (or not). It's a pretty fascinating contemplation on loss, grief, relationships, guilt, etc. Like For All Mankind, it has some "what the heck?" moments, but I think they are more than worth all the other stuff. The creator is Damon Lindelof, one of the creators of Lost and he was also the creator of the Watchman show with Regina King (who is also in the leftovers). He's ambitious with the TV he creates and I think this show is more successful than Lost in living up to that ambition.

Oh, and for fun, we've been watching Girls 5eva on Peacock. Tina Fey is a producer (not creator, but it has a VERY 30 Rock sensibility) and it's funny and has a great cast. Silly af but in a good way.
